Paper Vase

The centerpiece of my thesis project is a series of sculptural paper vases that bring Arabic typography into a three-dimensional, tactile form. Each vase features a unique design celebrating names, idioms, numbers, or the cultural intersections between Saudi Arabia and the United States. The use of vases reflects the historical role of Arabic calligraphy in decorating homes, reimagined through a contemporary lens. By moving Arabic letters off the page and into physical space, the project offers a new way to experience the fluidity, beauty, and adaptability of the Arabic script.
